Pictures Updated

This is to announce that I've added some 10 month pictures on my photo site (use the "Great Photos" link to the right). I've also consolidated a lot of the photos into fewer albums. Hopefully, that will make it a little easier to sift through them all. Enjoy!

Circus Time

Went to the circus today. Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim. First time for both myself and Joshua. I had a good time. Joshua wasn't quite sure what to think. At the beginning of the show, they did the human cannonball and when they shot out, there was a loud BANG! Joshua didn't like that too much...great way to start off your first experience at the circus, huh? He enjoyed watching the various animals and acrobatic stunts. But I wonder if a lot of it was just too loud for him. Danielle's parents came with us which was fun and they both enjoyed being there as well.

Please pray for our friends

One other thing I should really post is information about our friends, Phil and Denise. Bottom line is Denise is in critical condition due to a severe form of Valley Fever. She was 6 months pregnant and has already lost the baby through all this. She's had some improvements, but has a long way to go. They also have a 3 year old and a 1 year old at home and they're really missing their mommy.

They need all the prayer support you can offer. Phil started a blog to help communicate as often as possible what's going on and what you can specifically be praying for. I would love it if you could visit it often and lift them and the family up in prayer.

Oh...and then there's the dog

As I was publishing that last post, our dog, Goldie, came and started pawing me because she wanted to play. Reminded me that I didn't say anything about her. She's warming up to Joshua more that she was originally. I think it's largely due to the fact that Joshua is able to interact with her more and he's becoming more like an actual human to her. He's even been able to play tug o war with her toys pretty well, which he LOVES.

The one sad thing is that we won't be able to breed her like we wanted to. She'll be 5 this December and the vet tells us that if we don't breed her by then, it'll be more healthy to get her fixed. And since we're having another baby around the time she goes into heat, it's just not worth it. Bummer. When we move to a bigger home, maybe we'll get her a playmate.

Another New Beginning

I'm going to try this again. Let's see...it's been almost 8 months since I last blogged. *sigh*

Let me try to recap the past 8 months...
  1. Joshua will turn 11 months next week! I just tried weighing him the other day and he came out to either 27 or 28 pounds. Heck...even allowing for a pound of clothing, that's still 26-27 pounds. There are 18 month olds we know that aren't that heavy! And his length is about 31 inches. Needless to say, he's wearing 18 month clothes right now (some of those don't even fit!), some 24 month clothes and a handful of 12 month clothes.
  2. For now, pictures are found at our Yahoo site: http://photos.yahoo.com/bdcannon@sbcglobal.net
Although, unfortunately, I only have up to 9 months posted for Joshua. I was looking for another photo site that's either free or relatively cheap because some people are having trouble downloading photos from the Yahoo site. Any suggestions?
  3. Danielle is pregnant again! She is currently about 16 weeks along and due January 13th. However, because she had a c-section and they're so close, they're basically already planning on scheduling a c-section again about a week or so prior to the due date. So, we're looking at close to a new year's baby! Unscientific tests tell us it'll be a girl. But that remains to be seen.
  4. Still at the same job. Need a raise though...
  5. We bought into a cabin in Big Bear. Beautiful location with a 180 degree view of the lake. We will be taking periodic trips when we can, so let us know if you're interested in coming.
  6. February, we went to Oregon to celebrate my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Great time with the entire family!
  7. Danielle's twin sister, Lisa, is still on her 2 year commitment with Mercy Ships (www.lisascharf.com). She's having a great time and seeing a lot of things that none of us will ever see in our lifetime. She'll be home in November which will be great since she'll be home for the next birth. Very exciting for us!
I'm sure there's more...but that's just a start. We'll go from there...
